About CompleteBPT

CompleteBPT is a study platform for candidates preparing for the RACP Divisional Written Examination and Divisional Clinical Examination. It puts a large, structured content library, spaced repetition and an AI tutor in one place, so that the time you have goes to what you do not yet know.

Built by a physician, for physicians

CompleteBPT was created by Shamus Toomath, a gastroenterology advanced trainee at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney, while preparing for the RACP exams himself. It grew out of that experience: fragmented resources, no clear way to know what to prioritise, and no structured practice tools written for the RACP curriculum. Every feature since has been shaped by colleagues at RPA and by the trainees using it.

Results

In the 2026 exam cycle, more than 95% of trainees who prepared with CompleteBPT at RPA passed both the written and clinical examinations. That reflects a hardworking cohort as much as any platform, but it is the standard we build to.

What's included

Written exam

3,500+ flashcards and 2,000+ MCQs across the curriculum. Questions are rated easy, medium or hard from how trainees score on them, and show how the cohort answered.

Clinical exam

90+ short cases, 90+ long case issues, physical examination checklists with a timer, and sign-recognition drills.

Landmark trials

400+ trials, from the classics to this year’s, each on one screen with its PMID and the full paper linked, and linked to the questions that cite them. New trials and questions are added fortnightly.

Sage

An AI tutor that explains any card or question, and marks a recorded case presentation out of 10 with specific feedback.

A plan that follows your date

Spaced repetition for cards and cases, a daily target set from your exam date, and a dashboard that leads with the one thing to do next.

Our approach

The exams ask you to cover a great deal of material and then apply it under pressure. CompleteBPT is built on three principles:

• Exam-focused content — every flashcard, question and case guide is written to what the RACP exams actually test.
• Active recall and spaced repetition — the techniques with the strongest evidence, built in so you do not have to manage them yourself.
• Practice you can do alone — Sage explains, generates model answers and marks your presentations, so a study partner is optional.

Free period

Every account has full access at no cost until 28 February 2027, with no credit card required. After that, access is a single payment for 3, 6 or 12 months with no auto-renewal, and Cardiology stays free for everyone. Each colleague who signs up with your referral link adds a month to your access.
